I was born and raised in Augusta GA. Growing up part of the Alleluia Community, a Christian Community focused on right living and unity, I learned about God, His Love, and relationships. I had to understand how to maintain good standing and foster growth amongst peer relationships and how to respectfully work under authority. The Lord used my early years to show me what living under the law of Love meant and how I should seek first to understand situations from an eternal perspective. This is something that carried me through my young adult life.
As a young adult I made the decision that I wanted to make people my business and using the tools of my upbringing I knew I could work my way up in any company I worked for. I made this my professional goal. This did not require a degree, as I saw it, I had the training already. I started working in hospitality and at the age of 20 led a team of 80 people managing multiple locations for a franchise owner. I knew that I could earn respect from my team regardless of age by showing my commitment to them and the job. I consistently worked 80+ hours weekly to ensure standards and to lead by example as much as I could. I worked between 14 locations across the southeast helping to install systems and teams to operate at that higher standard which I was setting. During this success, in the summer of 2012, my mother took ill, and I decided to come home to Augusta. It would prove providential. I was recruited from the hospitality industry into high-end retail which had promise of a career that would provide a good life for my family if I could work my way up again. Starting over in a new industry paid oO in 18 months when I opened a new location as the store manager. I was able to put together a team that got national recognition and won awards at the company. I was asked annually for the next few years to take on a larger store all of which had management vacancies due to diOerent issues. I became the problem solver for the company. This continued until the spring of 2018 when I felt called into ministry. I left the cooperate job and moved to help my brother-in-law run a church he had be placed in charge of. Needing to still provide for my family I earned my insurance license and started working part-time selling insurance to keep the family whole. This time was a blessing, we didn’t add much to our worldly stockpile, but we did find love for ministry and learned a certain trust in the Lord. In 2019 my wife started having episodes in which the county hospital in rural North GA was unable to sort out. So, we moved back to Augusta. I began managing 2 insurance oOices and my wife got the medical care she needed. After a couple of years in insurance I was asked to help keep books at the Alleluia Christian Service Center. This would turn into so much more. It is such a blessing where I now have ministry and provision for my family and have worked into the role of Chief Administrative OOicer. My professional story highlights that God is in control first and foremost, and that hard work and treating people fairly from good integrity delivers results.
I met my wife Oct 27, 2012 in Augusta after returning home, and we were married Aug 23, 2013. She is an incredible woman of God and the glue to our growing family. I am blessed with 5 beautiful children ages 11,9,7,3,1 and look forward to our 6th in a few months. We live abundant lives full of vibrant relationships and community. We try to make our house the house where our children’s friends like to gather, this makes for a house full of life and joy. I enjoy the unique interest each child has, their hobbies become my hobbies. I get to go hunting and fishing with my sons, and color and do puzzles with my daughters. Our family is a unit. We do most all of our activities together, from ball games to even just grocery shopping, the family is together as much as possible.
I am a truly blessed man,
Thomas McAdams
